Becoming a COD seller in Morocco: requirements and sign-up
How to join the platform as a seller: the application, what gets reviewed, what you need before you start, and who this business does not suit.
The essentials
- What is it?
- This is an application, not simply a sign-up. An account is created online, the email address is verified, then the application is reviewed by the team before access is opened. Access is free and carries no subscription, and gives you the catalogue, phone confirmation, dispatch and payment of profits.
- Who is it for?
- The business suits someone who already knows how to reach customers — through advertising, a store, a page, an audience — and who has starting cash. It does not suit someone looking for income without work, nor someone with no way of getting a product in front of people.
- How does it work?
- The applicant fills in the sign-up form, confirms their email address, and waits for the application to be reviewed. If accepted, they complete their profile and payment details, receive a public ID in the form XXXX-XXXX, and can pick a first product from the catalogue of 1 products.
- What is it for?
- The review exists because every accepted seller puts the platform's name in front of customers and a carrier: they choose products, have people called on the phone, and send parcels out. Filtering at the door protects end customers, other sellers, and everyone's delivery rate.
- How do you use it?
- Before applying, gather three things: a concrete way of reaching Moroccan customers, an advertising budget you accept losing part of during testing, and bank details in your own name to receive withdrawals. A reachable phone is also necessary, even though the platform is the one calling your customers.
Becoming a seller on CODFamilia means submitting an application, having it reviewed by the team, then receiving access that lets you choose products, bring your orders in, and be paid on each delivery.
Who this business suits, and who it does not
COD is a trade, not an investment. The work that decides the outcome sits entirely before the platform: finding a product people want, writing an advert that reaches them, and paying to put it in front of them. The platform handles everything that comes after. If the first half is not held up by someone, the second half has nothing to process.
| This suits you if… | It does not suit you if… |
|---|---|
| You already know how to reach a Moroccan audience | You are counting on the platform to send you orders |
| You accept testing several products before one works | You expect a result from the first campaign |
| You have cash you can tie up for a few days | You need the money from sales before they are delivered |
| You are willing to read figures: cost per delivered order, delivery rate, returns | You would rather judge by the number of orders received |
| You want to avoid handling stock and carriers | You want income that does not require daily work |
What to have in place before applying
- A way of reaching customers — A page or account with an audience, an online store that gets traffic, an advertising account, or failing that a list of people you can contact. This is the one genuinely disqualifying condition, because no feature replaces it.
- An advertising budget — Money you accept spending before the first sale, and losing part of during testing. No amount can be quoted here: it depends on the product, the selling price and the channel chosen.
- A reachable phone — Even when the platform calls your customers, you are the one called when something goes wrong with an order, and your number is what identifies your account.
- Bank details in your own name — Withdrawals are paid into an account you hold. They are entered in settings after access is opened, not at application time.
- An email address you actually read — It is used to verify the account, for order notifications, and for the platform's announcements.
- Time every day — Following your orders, reading your reports, answering your account manager's questions and watching your returns. Not much time, but every day.
What gets reviewed in an application
The review looks at how serious and coherent the application is, not at past revenue. A beginner who explains clearly how they intend to get their first orders is easier to accept than a vague application promising large volumes.
Four things count: your identity and contact details, so it is clear who access is being granted to; how you plan to get orders, since the platform does not supply them; your grasp of the model, in particular that the confirmation and delivery fees are incurred before any cash comes in; and the absence of a plan plainly incompatible with selling physical goods in Morocco.
An application can be declined, or held while a detail is clarified. A refusal is not final: nothing stops you coming back with a clearer application, particularly once you have settled on a specific product and channel.
What it is honest to expect
No earnings can be quoted, and any page that quotes some should raise suspicion. A COD seller's result depends on their product, their selling price, their advertising cost and their delivery rate, and those four vary between sellers so much that two identical accounts on the platform can produce opposite outcomes.
What is certain is the shape of the start. You spend before you collect: advertising is paid up front, the confirmation and delivery fees are incurred at dispatch, and profit is credited only on delivery, several days later. The first weeks therefore consist of putting money out while waiting for information to come back.
You also have to accept that most products tested will not work. This is the part of the trade that costs the most patience: a product is judged on parcels that reached their destination, not on leads received, so each test takes days and costs a budget. A seller who plans their cash around that lasts longer than one who bets everything on their first choice.
After access is opened
- Complete the profile and payment details — In settings: your information, your interface language, and the account your withdrawals will be paid into. Without payment details a balance can build up but cannot leave.
- Note your public ID — In the form XXXX-XXXX. It is used to identify yourself to support and to attach a payment to the right account.
- Browse the catalogue before choosing — The 1 products in the public catalogue, with their platform price and stock. Picking a product whose stock is low before launching a campaign is a common and avoidable mistake.
- Run a first order by hand — A lead typed in manually, confirmed, dispatched and paid for teaches more about the chain than any amount of reading. It is also the fastest way to check that your selling price leaves a real margin.
- Connect a source of orders afterwards — A YouCan store connection, import from Google Sheets, a webhook or the REST API. Do this after confirming that a product sells, not before.
- Use your account manager and the tickets — An account manager looks after a group of sellers, and support requests are opened from the account and tracked through to their answer. The academy also offers free courses.
The application path
-
Submit your application
The online sign-up form: your identity, a reachable phone number, an email address and a few details about how you intend to get orders. No payment is asked for and there is no subscription.
-
Verify your email address
A message is sent to the address given; the application is only reviewed once the address is confirmed. That same address is where order notifications will arrive.
-
Wait for the application to be reviewed
The team looks at the application: identity, contact details, how you plan to get orders, and your grasp of the fact that fees are incurred before any cash comes in. You may be asked to clarify something before a decision.
-
Receive your access
If accepted, the account is opened with the seller role: dashboard, catalogue, leads, orders, inventory, wallet and statements. A public ID in the form XXXX-XXXX is assigned to the account.
-
Complete your profile and payment details
In settings, enter your information, your interface language and the bank account in your own name that withdrawals will be paid into. This is the last step before you can pick a product and take a first order.
